Give me a character of yours and a character of mine and I’ll write a short drabble about one (or FIRST, if they do kiss more than once) time they kiss.

The holiday -- planned entirely in jest -- waited until the summer to come to fruition. The summer had been unkind to everyone, but Alfie's spirits were never dampened by his father's incrimination as a major part of the Death Eater Administration. He really didn't care much. Here he was with two of his favorite people in a shabby inn in the Irish countryside, only one bed for them to share, just as Claudia had predicted.

Alfie was chivalrously sleeping on the plush, holey chair in the corner, however. Not that he minded sleeping next to two reasonably attractive girls, it was more how much he was afraid he would enjoy it and how uncomfortable that would make them, particularly Madeline.

"Are you awake?" Claudia asked from across the room and he nodded, straightening up in his chair and squinting in the darkness, identifying the humanoid shape that was probably Claudia sitting on the bed.

"Yeah," he said, realizing she might not see his nod in the dark. The mattress squeaked as the dark blur of Claudia shifted, and suddenly she was in front of him, and he could see her much better. She sat down on the arm of his chair, and he shifted to the other side to accommodate her.

"You can sleep on the bed with us, we don't mind," she said quietly, and he shook his head immediately.

Though he realized that might seem a bit harsh, so he shrugged. "I'm fine on the chair, I would take up a lot of space on the bed."

She put a hand to her mouth to muffle her laughter, and they both instinctively looked towards Madeline's sleeping form after the noise faded from the little room. She didn't stir. "We wouldn't mind," she repeated.

Looking back up at her, he shook his head again (this time slower). "You two should just be comfortable, I don't care," he said, trying to sound firm in spite of whispering.

Claudia smiled at him, though he barely understood why. He tried to smile back, as she usually wanted him to do, but he wound up feeling somewhat silly. But the more he looked at her, the more his smile felt real. He was on an Irish holiday with her (and Madeline), and he thought as terrible as last term had been that this fact made him lucky. He was lucky they were still friends, he had been told his behavior at some point had resembled that of a 'deplorable wanker'.

He barely considered Theodore Nott's part in the story, in the friendship, when he straightened up. She wasn't taller than him, even sitting on the arm of a chair. So when he leaned over and pressed his lips against hers, he wasn't incredibly conscious of any possible consequences.

Claudia let out of a muffled noise of surprise, but found the contact surprisingly warm and alive -- coming from Alfie most would joke that it was a shock -- and didn't jerk away.

"What are you two doing?" a sleepy-sounding Madeline mumbled, half incoherent.

Mary sat on her bed, her toes skimming the carpet as she leaned down to pass the bottle to Peggy, all of the girls giggling like four teenage girls who had stolen a bottle of liquor from their parents (which is exactly what they had done, well, Mary had done). They all thought they were entitled to a celebration, considering that they had all survived their OWLs with no major failures.

Not really at least.

Peggy giggled as she passed the bottle to Greta, who looked at it with reservations but took a swallow anyway. "You know who got tall?" Peggy asked.

"Who?"

"Davy."

They erupted into a fresh swell of giggles. "Do you liiiike him?" Mary asked.

"No, he's just tall!"

They all exchanged looks and seemed to realize how stupid they sounded, and burst into laughter. "Have you ever even snogged a boy, Mary?" she asked pointedly, addressing the sing-songing girl with a steely glance. "Everyone is worried about you, what with all of the time you spend around Sherlock."

"Oh come on. Of course I've..." Mary stopped as she took the bottle back and played with the label for a moment. "All right, I've not. But that's nothing to do with Sherlock. And who is everyone?"

"Me! I was just thinking maybe he's turning you into a sponge," Peggy chirped, rolling her eyes.

"No. I've got my eyes on someone." A Quidditch player. She couldn't quite remember his name. McSomething. McDreamy, she knew that much. What a hunk.

"What if you're really bad at it the first time?" she asked.

Greta and Lily were silently watching the exchange, shaking their heads slowly.

"It can't be that hard." Mary bit her lip.

"Practice?" Peggy asked.

They both leaned awkwardly forward, their lips bumping, both of them jerking away on instinct. "Oh that's soooo weird." Mary took a swig from the bottle and shook her head.

"Gotta smoke?" he asked as his eyes fell on the girl engrossed in her reading, a cigarette hanging absentmindedly from her lips.

"Yeah," she said unconsciously, rummaging through her bag and producing a pack without looking up at him as she did so.

"Millicent have you been out here your whole free hour?"

"The common room was too loud." She waved her hand dismissively once he had removed the pack from it. Finally taking the cigarette from her lips and flicking the ashes on the ground, she looked up briefly.

"You're going to miss lunch," he added, lighting the cigarette with his wand and leaning against the wall of the castle.

"That's fine, I'm not that hungry," she said, smiling slightly down into her book.

"Exams are ages away."

"Then I'll have plenty of time to prepare, right?"

Bertie sighed and shook his head, finishing his cigarette in silence, reading along over her shoulder boredly. "I'll bring you something from lunch."

Millicent stood up, leaned over, kissed him on the cheek, and immediately went back to her reading.

"Thanks."

Bertie walked away fairly impressed with himself.

Terry knew it wasn't particularly dramatic or romantic or grand (things he was not, so it worked out fine). But after weeks of knowing he liked Megan, and knowing Megan liked him, but no way to get a chance to talk to her for more than five seconds, and no way to get any alone time, not much else had been done or said about it. Jokes of love poetry aside, it was time to man up.

So he stood outside of Hufflepuff common room before lunch, his hands in his pockets, whistling an innocent tune as he very casually made several first years emerging feel excessively uncomfortable.

Finally, Megan was out, surrounded by a group of friends.

"Hey!" he said as he saw her, and she fell back from her posse.

"Go on, we'll catch up," she said, and they disappeared. "Hey," was all she got out before he hunched down and kissed her, and the conversation was all the better for it.

"JW what's wrong? You look so brooding. Are you trying for a new image?" Geoff asked, running a hand through his spiky hair.

JW didn't reply, merely stared at the object of his torment; Clara Yaxley. He had not anticipated that taking Geoff out to the Three Broomsticks would mean running into his (currently ex) girlfriend out with her lady friends.

He hadn't known she had any lady friends at all.

She only glanced at him briefly.

"JW? Earth to JW?"

JW shook his head and turned his attention back to Geoff, but out of the corner of his eye he could see Clara finally shift her gaze to him.

Narrowing his eyes, he grabbed JW by the back of the hair and planted one on him as forcefully as possible.
